I can so relate! ๐ Pro tip: Don't live in the same house for 40 years...if you do, your destashing and decluttering will take 9 months (so far ๐)!
Iโm so glad we had that grab and gab thing earlier in the year because that took care of a lot of my excess art supplies (I did buy another sketchbook two weeks ago *whispers*)
That was a huge project! Well done. I'm sorry I missed out your stash sale. I'm also focusing on enjoying what I already have. It's hard to resist the quick dopamine hit of buying that one small thing, but I'm getting better at it.
My collection of stuff includes various art supplies and stationery products. Honestly I canโt find something when I really need it. I now have an 8 year old granddaughter who is quite the artist and she does use some of my supplies, but not nearly enough. I also used to sell for Stampinโ Up years ago so have boxes of stamping supplies and thousands of stamps. What I first need to do is find a place that takes donations of art supplies etc. Your article is. Inspiring!
Not being able to find what I want to use is the most frustrating part for me as well! Oh, I bet you have some great treasure from your Stampin' Up collection too. Perhaps you can also look into schools, libraries, or other organizations that could use creative outlets to take your art supply donations! Good luck~
Thanks for your wonderful response, April! Checking into schools for donations is a great idea. In fact I worked in my local school district for 15 years and wonder why I didnโt think of it! LOL
This was so great to read. Iโm half way through my own declutter - although under different circumstances. Iโm moving internationally and under a tightish time frame. So Iโm splitting my collections into โuse as I travelโ, โship overseas and decide later (a cheat but necessary and not a burden on shipping since I have a container already), and give away (at a local pen club).
Even with such lax โrulesโ itโs more challenging than I expected - so a lot is being shipped - Iโm just not in an emotional place to decide clearly. There will be another โsort and give awayโ when I reach my destination (and hopefully forever home). So the local pen club there will also benefit Iโm thinking ๐
Thank you for reading! Oh man, packing stationery for a move can be so stressful, it's wild to see how much space they can take up. I wish you good luck on your journey and that the giveaway stationery help you make new friends in your new home!
Great job!๐. We live in a 42โ motor coach full-time so I have very little space. Everything I own I love or I get rid of it. BTW, I just got my first plotter in the Bible size! Absolutely love it! Thanks for sharing c
Seeing how people organize their stationery is so my jam! As much as I am a creative I also love organization and always am seeking ideas for my limited space!
Thank you for sharing details about the re of your studio space. It will be wonderful to access the items that inspire you and provide that dopamine boost. I believe it is essential for us as creatives to find joy in all things related to stationery. - Kat

The dopamine hit is definitely addictive! I can't promise I won't buy more when I'm in Japan this year, haha!
I don't think I could resist buying stationery if I were visiting Japan! I shall live vicariously through you.

Luckily my sister already took a large suitcase with my inks and empty fountain pens. A whole large suitcase ๐ฎ
