Welcome to The Penguin Post
Hello! You might also know me as April from penguinscreative. I’ve been creative journaling and making art since 2014 when I quit my first job out of university — purchasing parts at an ice skate manufacturing factory in Bangkok. Since then, I’ve moved from Taiwan to Boston and finally landed in Seattle. 2015 is when I deep dive into the world of stationery, art, and creativity in general. Specifically, in my Hobonichi Techo, I’ve accumulated over eight years of my journey through daily creative pages. I love stationery so much, I started a podcast with friends called The Stationery Cafe. One year into the pandemic, I also landed the job of my dreams in the stationery industry.
Today, I have an Instagram and Youtube account with dwindling followers because I can no longer dance to the tune of the algorithm. I’ve started blogs, and abandoned them, never sticking to one platform long enough to curate my creative footprint. However, I miss writing and sharing my stories.
So here’s trying again. The Penguin Post is the hub where I share the behind-the-scenes of my creative journey. I may pull out old pages of my Hobonichi and reminisce on those memories with you. I may also hop on stationery news and deep dive into the incredible creativity of Asian stationery inventions.
I think it’ll take a while to fineness where I want The Penguin Post to go. However, I appreciate you taking a chance on this wild ride with me.
