What a fun recap! I love that they had a vendor's lounge for you to decompress in. I also love that there are more stationery-focused events happening in multiple cities now. Really hoping to make it out to one of them in the next few years. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Even as an attendee it was so much chaos and overwhelming but also so much joy in the air, too. I loved the Wasteshed stationery swap offering — I got rid of so much and was so happy to see it all gone when I picked out a few items myself.

Random stream of thoughts: I thought Kirk was so smart to display the beginner friendly pens! I’m mad I missed those chubby raccoons. Where did you order the takeout in the picture from and did you like it? I can’t believe you guys scarfed down Chicago dogs at the booth 😂 that’s something I would eat alone haha. If you guys didn’t get the roast chicken at Lula Cafe, it is amazing…I don’t even love chicken.

That made me happy to see the bag I dropped off was gone within matter of mins. I knew the items went to a new home.

I enjoyed reading your trip report! I was there as well, my first! We spoke briefly at the Plotter table. Saturday was quite chaotic, but I still managed to grab most of what I wanted, minus that M5 square 😭 and the pen & pencil line was too long. You still managed to do quite a bit outside of the fest! My hubby and I managed one museum, and then we were too exhausted to do anything else 😂 Did you see the Field Museum edition of Field Notes? I may have several 🙈

"Unlike at planner events, we aren’t here to learn how to be more efficient, be inspired, or be more productive — we are here just to indulge in those magical moments when a small stationery item fits JUST RIGHT in our diaries or journals." - April Wu

Yes, I think this summons it up the difference between the two worlds and even the scrapbooking world. Spot on summary of the whole event. Now living in WI for 4 years and going to the city a lot. I will now have to check out the deli you mentioned. I have been to other Jewish delis in the burbs, and they don't make a sandwich that looks like that! Usually very small with a $$$ price.

Thanks again for coming to Chicago. It was nice to "briefly" meet you. Thanks for have Kelly's latest sticker with you too. - Kat

I’m so interested in attending a stationery event! I went to the BWIPS and holy cow the PENS. But I would really love more stationery to browse!
